Maine PowerOptions was formed in 1999 by legislative statute, as a program managed by both the Maine Health and Higher Educational Facilities Authority and the Maine Municipal Bond Bank.
Its purpose is to serve as an aggregator for energy supply and services for its members, who are the public-serving and non-profit organizations of Maine.
In fulfilling this purpose, we counsel our members about their energy options and negotiate favorable pricing for members of all sizes, based on their combined purchasing power.
Over time, we have evolved to offer expanded service opportunities to our members, including solar power, demand response, efficiency, carbon reduction and more.
Membership and participation are voluntary; we encourage new and existing members to use our services to manage their energy costs and achieve their climate impact goals.
As the only member of the Maine PowerOptions (MPO) team, Rex brings an extensive background in organizational management and business process improvement to the MPO program.
Rex has resided in Readfield since 2018, holds a BAS in Organizational Management from Eastern Florida State College and is a veteran of the United States military (USMC & US Army).
